Christmas 2021 (Qoriwawas 2021)

Our 3rd year of Christmas 2021 for our Qoriwawas.

Christmas could be every day!

You might be wondering, we are in June and we are posting Christmas pics now. Well, Last December was a hectic month for us, including January because we had to pack to go on our long trip to Peru.

We got back, and we had to catch up with many tasks, so we are now keeping up with the “backlog”. We haven’t even had a chance to look at all the lovely pics we took in Peru!

Anyway, Christmas 2021 was different, because this time my sister suggested I liaise directly with the school’s headteacher and he was so helpful.

He stated, we have over 300 children in our school!

Ouch! I was thinking to myself: “how are we going to stretch the money we raised £350 selling food?

I quickly replied: “we have £500” (we gifted a further £150)

The headteacher enthusiastically replied: Fantastic!, that is great, let me talk to the parents and the teachers and let me get back to you with their suggestions.

Next, he said, they were all happy, they had a meeting and decided that the funds would buy all the children their school hats. These are the blue hats they are wearing.

The funds only covered for the purchase of half the hats, the headteacher continued, and reassured me that the teachers will give donations to complete the amount they needed.

The parents were coming together to prepare the ‘hot chocolate’.

I was very touched with all their enthusiasm, and re-affirmed the reason why we are taking a smile to our Qoriwawas.

That’s it, they were in charge and they sent me lots of photos and videos! They do know how to have celebrations indeed!

The headteacher, and everyone, sent their love to all our supporters.

Your support really makes a difference, so thank you from us here en la Casa Peruana UK too.

Fast forward,, We got back at the end of March 2022 from Peru, and Dave and I couldn’t meet the children as they were still in lockdown. Nonetheless, when we visited Q’eswachaka (the last Inca bridge) we found out the school was on our route. So, we can’t wait to visit them soon.

We are really committed to making a small difference to the lives of our Qoriwawas (golden children), and we will endeavour to pursue raising funds in many innovative ways.

E.g Selling food.

Lodging our room in la Casa Peruana UK (where a percentage of our lodging fees goes towards this fund).

Teaching Ancestral Healing based on the methods, principles of the Andean Cosmovision @La Casa Peruana UK.

Thank you,

Be the change.

Bertha and family.
